What are you putting off right now?
Like, right now? What is the job, task, thing, whatever you’re meant to be doing right now?
Probably not reading this, but thank you. I do appreciate it 🙂
In a Farnum Street article I read the following and it prompted today’s dispatch,
“Waiting for the right time is seductive. Our mind tricks us into thinking that waiting is actually doing something.”
It also said,
“It’s easy to land in a state where you’re always waiting … for the right moment, for things to be perfect, for everything to feel just right. It’s easy to convince yourself that you’re not ready and if you wait just a little longer then things will be easier.”
Yeah. Waiting is just not a thing you want to get caught up in. Waiting just makes things worse.
Like waiting to do something you’re nervous about. Any delays and your performance might be worse than it could be. And that’s because you’ve had time to build it up in your mind.
But nothing ‘happens’ in your mind. It happens to you. And the reality is very, very rarely as bad as you’ve envisioned it to be.
There is a saying that goes something like there is never a ‘right time’. It’s true. Because the ‘right time’ is a delaying tactic. It’s putting things off. It’s a lack of confidence in your abilities.
Basically it’s a lack of trust in yourself.
The only person you can truly trust is yourself. Because you know what you are going to do and when. Always.
So, be confident in your abilities. Trust yourself. And let’s go!
The right time is now.
Have a great week. Let’s connect on Linkedin so we can give each other a push when we see we can help each other.
