In this week’s MondayMotivator,

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and is limited only by that person’s vision of what is real and good.

An example of this is that in his book Something Beautiful for God, Malcolm Muggeridge discusses the life of the late Mother Teresa of Calcutta. He reflects on her beauty, not in the physical sense, but that she shone with the love of Christ, which centred her whole life. He saw her beauty from a different perspective than some might consider beautiful—something the social media generation has gotten stuck in.

Beauty appears in many forms: a radiant rainbow, waterfalls, a child’s laughter, an act of kindness, snowflakes, and a red rose. In addition to the beauty of nature, we can create it ourselves by the looks we give, a smile, the things we say or do, and the objects we sculpture with our hands—a drawing or painting, a piece of furniture built with your own hands, a garden full of vegetables sown and cared for by you.

You might not appreciate this, but you appear beautiful to others whenever you do something for them or make them feel good, whether through praise, encouragement, or appreciation. Beauty is in service and how you carry yourself through each day.

To include this in your life, think, “I will recognise and appreciate much more the beauty I see all around me in nature and in the beauty created by other people’s words, looks, and actions. I will become more conscious of beauty beyond mere human physical appearance, which is limited by time, and I will focus on the eternal nature of beauty.”
