Who are the top email marketing influencers to follow on Twitter?

Posted by Spike Email Marketing

I thought this was an interesting question for me and my fellow Mailchimp experts to answer. That’s because it leads to, “Who or what inspires us to do better email marketing?”

The answers were all different and it goes to show email marketing inspiration is everywhere if you’re looking.

mailchimp partners hero - Who are the top email marketing influencers to follow on Twitter?

My fellow Mailchimp partners always inspire me to do more and be more. Mailchimp post some really helpful stuff, and Ben Chestnut is a great role model for any budding billionaire!

I personally listen to a lot of podcasts about how people have scaled a service business, which can be a challenge. Noah Kagan from AppSumo produces a great podcast, as does Nathan Latka.

The Agency Collective also have an amazing Slack workspace for growing digital agencies to learn from.

The email Twitter community is alive and well. I have so many favorites, but I always love following @lovevalgeisler (Saas/email guru), @samarowais (copywriter), @pompeii79 (HTML email designer), @IAmElliot (email designer) and of course the #emailgeeks hashtag!

And of course, @benchestnut and my fellow Mailchimp Partners!

My source of inspiration for email marketing are various and they change often, I really like the content curation made by Really Good Emails and similar sources. One of the best things I’ve done lately is to start following fellow Mailchimp Partners on LinkedIn, so keeping in touch with what they do and learning from different approaches and experiences.

I’m inspired by my fellow Mailchimp Partners. People like Doug Dennison, Sequoia Mulgrave, Emily Ryan, Alessandra Farabegoli, Amy Hall, Dave Miz plus all the old school guys like Frank Kern keep me inspired to send better email.

While a lot of what I do is email marketing, being a digital marketer means looking at all aspects of online marketing for trends and advice. For that reason, I tend to follow general marketing influencers, so people like Nancy Harhut (@nharhut), Ann Handley (@annhandley) and Seth Godin (@thisissethsblog) are some of the big names I look to for inspiration and ideas. Of course, I also suggest following martech leaders like Ben Chestnut (@benchestnut) and the team at Litmus (@litmusapp) for topics more directly related to email.

Umm… I’m not on twitter (gasp!)… but if I was i’d be continually checking out some of the experts in Digital Marketing (Ryan Deiss, Ezra Firestone), along with sector specific people (e.g. deliverability – Litmus, Emails on Acid)…
