I trust that you enjoyed the awesome Easter weather recently and are looking forward to a ‘sunshiney’ ANZAC Day tomorrow.

It’s great that, even as time marches by, more and more New Zealanders are heading to dawn services and continuing to remember the troops that fought in the war. If you’re in Auckland, you might want to check out the commemorative activity at the War Memorial Museum. For those not in Auckland, or unlikely to make it along to the Museum, check out this video featuring women during war-time. It was truly incredible, the way that women came forward to competently and capably do ‘men’s jobs’ during this time. In my opinion, though, it would have been tough for them to give up these empowering, fulfilling roles, as the males returned from the war.

My aim, going forward, is to get these newsletters out much more regularly and I trust that you will glean real value from them. I love your feedback too, so by all means, share your thoughts and if there is anything that you’d like to see covered, let me know.

To make me accountable, you can expect your new, fresh, shiny dose of Spike News on the last Tuesday of every month, as I refuse to be the metaphorical ‘mechanic with a broken car’. (We’ve even set ourselves up as one of our own clients!)

Earlier this year, I started working with Mark Robotham from Growth Management Consulting, after I met him during a Business Dominoes Course. You’ll be hearing more about that journey, as I work on making SpikeMail even better. First up though, comes a rebranding, following the realisation that SpikeMail isn’t just about email anymore… Our name simply isn’t doing justice to what we do.

More about us later though, when we’re ready for the ‘big reveal’…

And for you guys…

Looking more closely at SpikeMail has got me thinking about the other businesses we work with and I find myself asking more questions as we look at how to:

  • Continue building buyers, not just lists (although these have value too!)
  • Get customers, for our clients, faster
  • Get you from point A (where you are now) to point B (where you want to be) faster, by setting milestones and completing them quickly
  • Best demonstrate return on investment and what’s in it for you

Return on investment is always an interesting area and can be a bit of a minefield, but it doesn’t need to be. In fact, I’ve put together a nifty calculator to show the numbers easily. By considering your own sales process and how your numbers work, you can see what you need to do for a clear path forward. It’s incredible how a slight change to the figures can have a big positive impact for your business.
