When people say, “it can’t be done,” it is usually because they cannot picture themselves doing it.
Ignore them.
If humanity had listened to every “can’t do” voice, Mount Everest would never have been climbed, no one would have landed on the moon, and the telephone would never have been invented.
Quite often, the biggest obstacle is not other people.
It is your own inner voice.
The voice of doubt.
The voice of fear.
The voice that says:
“Just a minute… this probably isn’t for you.”
If you listen to it long enough, it begins to shape your belief system. And once your belief system weakens, your chances of achieving anything meaningful do too.
That is why belief matters so much.
Trust yourself more.
You are more capable than you think.
Be wise about your future. Wisdom is different from cleverness. As Dr. Edward de Bono said:
“Cleverness is like having a library full of books. Wisdom is knowing which book to read at this moment.”
There are plenty of clever people who never act.
Never risk.
Never try.
Wisdom moves. Wisdom asks:
“Why not me?”
“Why not now?”
“Why not give this everything I have?”
The people who build meaningful lives are not always the most talented. Often, they are simply the people who refused to stop because of fear, doubt, criticism, or disbelief.
Develop a stronger philosophy for your life.
WHY NOT?
Because the alternative is spending your life listening to voices that were never qualified to decide your future in the first place.
This Week’s Monday Motivator
Do not allow negative inner voices or the opinions of others to undermine your belief in what is possible. Build a stronger belief system. Back yourself. Ask “Why not?” and move forward anyway.
Prompt for the Week
Where in my life have I been talking myself out of something I genuinely want to do — and what would change if I replaced “I can’t” with “Why not?”
