Today, we are experiencing noise on an unparalleled scale. Everywhere you go, you are assaulted by all sorts of noise, from lawnmowers to motorcycle engines, jet engines to music pouring out a barrage of relentless noise.
You might believe you’ve blocked or ignored it, but it’s still there. The body requires time to heal, and the mind needs time to be quiet. It is tough to think deeply when you are surrounded by noise.
Take time out now and then to clear the cobwebs of your thinking.
Each day, remember to take breaks to unwind and experience a feeling of well-being. Find a quiet place or put in earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones. You’d be amazed at how many people you see wearing headphones have nothing playing. They just want to block out the curfuffal.
Sit or lie down, close your eyes, relax your whole body and shut out those inner voices and the world’s noises for a short while. Focus on something gentle, inspiring or something that brings joy into your soul. Soft music, a prayer, a lake scene and meditate on that. Be aware of your uniqueness and listen to your positive inner self.
Make a note to remind yourself to set aside quiet time each day to regain peace of mind and recharge your batteries.
