Think back to when you last did a favour for someone. How did you feel afterwards?

Good, I’m certain. This happens because you boost your self-esteem and how you feel about yourself. Which in turn increases your self-confidence.

By helping others, you help yourself find happiness.

Research shows that those who demonstrate more social interest tend to enjoy higher levels of mental health. This is above and beyond the practical benefits of receiving help and other known factors that you would expect.

So it goes that if you include service to others, you feel less stress and more grateful for what you have in balancing your lifestyle and goals.

Many people feel a lack of purpose and think there is a ‘missing’ factor.

Do this: instead of fighting stress, do something about it by replacing it and bringing more purpose to your life. Find something you can get passionate about, see what you can do to help others, and then do it!
