Many of the limitations you place on yourself are not facts.
They are recordings.
Recordings of other people who, in your younger days at school, gave you negative disinformation. And, as a result, you may have made wrong decisions about your own potential.
Many people learned something once, got it wrong, and decided they would never get it right.
Reading is one example.
You were probably taught:
“If you miss words, skip back to make sure you understood them.”
“Always read slowly.”
“Read one word at a time.”
You would agree that we are generally trained to read exactly that way – one word at a time.
Or, one. Word. At. A. Time.
Yet each eye has 260 million light receptors, capable of photographing information at phenomenal speed. You will achieve more if you develop a wider field of view and take in more words per glance.
Read more, not just for pleasure, but because it will help you understand more, demystify life, achieve more, and experience a better quality of life.
I started tracking my reading, so I read at least 10 pages a day. I’ve gone through several books since I started and enjoyed every one.
Reading is just one example, of course. However, it’s worthwhile to regularly evaluate what you have come to believe about yourself and your potential. If you do, you might find yourself untapping that potential and living your life at a faster, more expansive way.
This Week’s Monday Motivator
Challenge one belief you hold about your ability to learn.
Prompt for the Week
I will read books on accelerated learning and speed reading to read more, know more, and experience the pleasure of reading.
