Have you ever told someone, “I’m just not good at maths”?

Where did that belief come from?

Maybe you didn’t do well at school one day, and a teacher said you weren’t cut out for maths. You stored that experience in a little brain cell – a neuron.

And every time you repeated that story, “I suck at maths,” you reinforced the pathway.

Think of it as either cutting a pathway deeper as you walk it or adding a grape to a bunch of grapes, and it getting bigger and bigger as you add them.

Not only does that story, yes, it’s a story. It does not improve your maths…

It builds a stronger neural roadblock around being bad at maths. This process applies to everything!

Our brains are shaped by the stories we tell ourselves again and again.

But here’s the good news: just like a path in the bush, the weeds take over if you stop walking it.

And if you start walking a new one, a more positive or empowering story, it gets clearer with every step.

So next time you catch yourself repeating a limiting belief, pause and ask, What story am I reinforcing?

Remember, your brain believes what you tell it.

Tell it something better and have a great week.
