Unfortunately, there is no quick fix, but there is a solution to change the situation. It will take a little effort and a little time each week, but it is well worth the effort.
Basically, it involves a whole new way of thinking and building the picture you hold of yourself, the self-image. It begins with a basic plan to bring about personal growth and take control of your life.
This is where personal coaching comes to the fore. An experienced coach will take you on a journey where you will experience this personal growth, behaviour modification and recognition of your own enormous potential.
Instead of seeing problems and challenges in business or your personal life as barriers to happiness, think of them as character-building opportunities that can lead to deeper joy.
Kate Hanley, a mind-body coach and author of ‘The Anywhere, Anytime Chill Guide.’ Kate Hanley says: “Things aren’t going south because you’re cursed, they’re happening to show you where you need to grow,” She goes on to say: “A new controlling boss, for example, may be showing you how you yourself need to cede some control. It may be painful now, but it will help you grow into the person who can be an effective boss. So, instead of wondering, ‘Why me?’ think, ‘What can I learn from this situation?’ Try responding in different ways — particularly in ways that you would never normally do. Anything that inspires you to react in new ways helps you evolve.”
Create your own happiness and stop waiting for it to hit you in the eyeball.
Many people who have overcome worries and problems have found happiness by outwardly expressing their gratitude for what they have. Or going out of their way to find other unfortunate people and help them. Setting happiness goals and getting involved in charitable organisations.
People go to romantic island holiday resorts to find love or happiness. However, I believe that if you don’t take it with you, then you will not find it there.
Go out and make happiness happen.
Unless you are suffering from some debilitating mental challenge, it’s still up to you. Abraham Lincoln once said, “Most folks are just about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”
Some people hold on to their unhappiness as if it were a valuable possession and refuse to let go. Until they do, they will never experience true happiness.
I once passed a church notice board with a sign that read, “The best vitamin for happiness is B1 (Be one)”. Hee hee! Remember, you need to act in the happiness role if you want to FEEL it.
Would you like to know what the future holds for you? It will be like your predominant state of mind right now. In physics, we are taught that Like energy attracts Like. This is a part of The Law of Attraction. If you start behaving negatively, which is what unhappiness portrays, then that’s what you’re going to attract. However, if you want to attract happiness, you had better behave that way.
Take ownership of your life and your mind and dwell on positive, happy thoughts and feelings, and you will create a happy future.
To your success and working on being 1% better each day.
