What is the worst thing that could happen to you; when you fall over attempting a new trick, make a sales call, ask for a date, get made bankrupt or go to the gym for the first time?
Nothing that will kill you is the answer.
Bill Purdin said, “If you ever picture your life as the world’s worst case scenario, just look around. Then redraw that picture.”
Looking around my world today life is good. The sun is shining, people are turning up to work at the offices outside my window, I have power and running water. You see where this is going?
The big events that have happened over the last several weeks show the world is changing. People are taking their right for freedom in some countries while in Christchurch and Japan people are taking stock and will start rebuilding from scratch.
The opportunities for those peopleare amazing. I include my dad in that group of people because having a stroke has slowed him down enough to see there is a lot more he could be doing.
This week just before you chicken out of something because of fear (and it is fear) look around and redraw that picture. Then do it.
Have a great week.
P.S. I reread Elijah’s Coin on the weekend. Excellent book. Here is the link to my review of Steve’s book and his article – link
