YourMondayMotivator: What are you inputting, to your head?

Last week we spent three days down in Golden Bay for our first wedding anniversary. Golden Bay is a wonderful place and after getting over my dis-connectedness anxiety (no phone and lack of internet) I was able to enjoy it.

I was able to read a few books that had simple and powerful ideas in them and I realised I hadn’t done that for some time.

One book I read and recommend was Elijah’s Coin by Steve O’Brien. The book has four simple principles; Observe, Think, Believe, Act. Putting these into practice is a bit harder than it first seems but as the hero of the story finds out they are powerful once you have learned them.

Every day we are bombarded with junk thoughts and ideas. These thoughts might come from billboards, TV or Billy at the watercooler. In my opinion we think we are filtering them out but unless we consciously put stuff that moves us forward that stuff is affecting us subconsciously.

We are what we think, eat and do.

Luckily for us all those things are in our control and we can think what we like, eat what we like and act how we want to act. Yes there are underlying traits that might cause us to act inappropriately in certain situations but we can do something about them if we want to.

This week look at what is going in to your head and ask the question, is this going to move me forward.
My best.
