YourMondayMotivator: Singing in the lifeboats

This morning I saw a tweet that the week ahead for someone was not going to be good. I replied that wasn’t the attitude to start the week with and they should remember Voltaire said we should still sing in the lifeboats.

The full quote attributed to Voltaire is, “Life is a shipwreck, but we must not forget to sing in the lifeboats.”

How you start the week, or any day, is up to you. Just before your eyes have opened, and you are lying awake, you have a moment to start your day on a positive note.

What you say to yourself in that moment will have an effect on what foot you get out of bed with. Even saying in your mind you are going to have a great day will have a small effect by creating a ripple. And no one knows where those ripples end. They are seemingly endless.

You don’t just have to do this when you wake up though. When you have finished reading this you will be thinking differently to when you started because you will be thinking about what I have written.

You will have started a ripple. How cool is that. To really plant the ripple effect in your mind go to a pond and throw a stone in.

Remember we all create ripples that sometimes turn into tidal waves. These either wash you away or take you with them.

Have a great week and keep in mind you are creating ripples every day.
