Processes, how many of them do you have?
A lot. Because, even if you don’t think you have them, you have them, right?
There will be a step by step way that you do something. You might change those steps every so often, but there is always a process.
And you know what? Processes are there to be followed.
For example, at Spike, email for us is life or death. No one else thinks about it like that, but it is. Its life or death.
When we send an email, we think it’s life or death so we’re testing the heck out of it. We are making sure everything works. That’s just one of the differences between having us do it and people doing themselves.
But those processes and yours, when they’re not followed, wow, stuff can go wrong.
For example, your day hasn’t started well. You just can’t seem to get anything done. Things are out of your control. That’s a horrible feeling.
The proven processes that we have, mean that our teeth get brushed, we get dressed, we get out of the house on time, our car works. For Spike, our emails do the job they’re supposed to do which is get in the inbox and prompt the right action.
Sometimes though these processes may need to be changed. Our bodies are designed to make things easy for our brain so they automate processes to ease the energy load.
However, those processes might not be working as well as they could for us. They need to regularly examined to test their effectiveness.
In changing things up in how you start your day, say hi to someone, react to things you might discover a better way. A better process that improves your life.
Have a great week.
