YourMondayMotivator: Wherever you go, there you are.

Think about this for a minute %%First Name%%: Wherever you go, there you are.
People will change jobs, move cities, change relationships and travel a lot to “get away”. Get away from trouble. Get away from pain. Get away from people they can’t relate to.
Problem is no matter where they go they always have the same issues. Maybe not quite the same issues in extreme cases. But the point is, their troubles seem to follow them.
Why? Because they are there. Until they change themselves they will always have troubles.
Socrates said to Alcibiades, a rich man who travelled a lot and was always unhappy in spite of his riches and success, “Because you take yourself always with yourself. Wherever you go you take yourself with yourself; that is the trouble. This time you go alone. Leave yourself in Athens. Then there is a possibility of maturity.”

Whenever you want to get away from your issues you need to leave yourself somewhere. Whenever you want to be successful, you need to leave the unsuccessful you somewhere.
This isn’t easy. It will take practice and an acknowledgement of what you bring to an issue. It will take a concious effort to be noticing your self, your thoughts and your actions.
Can you do it? Can you pay attention to your self? It’s not something that we are trained for. No one can teach you to do it because the decision to pay attention is yours.
Ha! I do love a good dilemma. You could be better but you have to make the decision to be better. And you know what, we are lazy. That is why some kick butt, and are extremely successful, and then there is everyone else making up the numbers.
Was that harsh? Maybe. But this is for me too and I need a good kick up the bum from time to time as well.
Have a great day and pay attention.
