Recently I was thinking about how lucky I was to be born to my parents, in Auckland, in New Zealand. And that I have a duty to make the most of that luck.
I was thinking that just those factors make me very lucky. Those factors mean I could do anything, become anyone. Have I? Could I have done more up to this point? Maybe.
Would I have done some things differently? Yes! Would I be where I am today if I had? No. And there’s the rub.
I like where I’m at today and I feel lucky. Do you? Take stock of where you’re at right now. Here’s a start for you. You’re lucky just being able to read this. Then add the computer, the phone, the office, etc. Make a list and then read through it. …
Do you feel lucky? Well do ya, punk? Put the list somewhere you can read it from time to time. It might remind you to do a bit more or go a bit further and make the most of your luck. Funny thing, by doing these things you could also start to get even luckier.
