There are many times when we want to get our partner to do something for us. If we’re not careful, we can get into the habit of ordering them around like a child. This can create arguments and after awhile, the person on the receiving end will be very unlikely to listen. Make the change and do the following:
*Include don’t order*
This week I want you both to focus on using this question – “How would you feel about….?” when asking your partner to do something. It gets your position across without being a direct order, and it makes your partner feel included. You can apply this to all types of situations such as taking the rubbish out, making the bed, helping with the dishes, picking up the kids etc.
*Watch this Friday on Ch 9's Mornings with Kerri-Anne for more of my relationship tips*
Have a great week
