Henry Ward Beecher said, “The difference between perseverance and obstinacy is that one comes from a strong will, and the other from a strong won’t.”
Have you ever been in a job, or relationship, where you want to really move it ahead and you just keep coming up against walls. You have the ‘will’ to keep going but you are coming against a ‘won’t’ from some obstinate person. Someone who won’t give up their position. (A great example is the Japanese and their whaling stance.)
What do you do? I suggest persevering until your will becomes a won’t. Because then you have done everything you can and if the wall of ‘won’t’ doesn’t come down it’s time to move on.
