Today’s minimotivator #39-2010: Character

John Morley said, “No man can climb out beyond the limitations of his own character.”

Why does your character limit you? Because it’s who you really are. To climb out further you need to challenge yourself, to seek better characteristics.

For example my goal this year is not to swear anymore, at all. I gave myself a year because a change like this is huge. It took a long time to develop the habit so I know it’s not going to take five minutes to change.

But at the end of it I will have changed because I will have to think harder about what I want to say. I will be able to climb out a bit further than I could before.

What limitation could you work on this year that could climb out further? Select one, give yourself a decent amount of time to change and go for it.
