Today’s minimotivator #24-2010: Last Chance To See

Douglas Adams said in “Last Chance to See”, “Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.”

We look, we say “hmmm” and “ahhh”, and then do exactly the same thing ourselves – in a different way.

If you haven’t seen Last Chance To See its very good. The latest series with Stephen Fry makes for good viewing but still has the same message Douglas Adams gave us 20 years ago. Why do we not want to learn from the apparent mistakes of others when we could so easily do so.

Learn from the mistakes of others. Hit yourself over the head, have reminders all over the place reinforcing what you should do, do whatever it takes. Learn.
