Bill Gates said, “The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. The second is that automation applied to an inefficient operation will magnify the inefficiency.”
I find a pen and paper and some time to think are generally the best solution to any personal operational issue. Adding automation to my daily operations often magnifies the fact that I’m not doing what I should be doing.
If you want some time to think a great time is when you are driving to or from work. Turn the radio and your phone off and concentrate on your driving. This will let your mind relax and;
1. You will see more interesting things than you ever thought possible and
2. Your mind will feel refreshed and unwound from a long day at work.
A few days of this and that ‘technology’ might not need to be added.
