While I disagree with the destructive nature of the protests in the USA I agree they must protest. My eyes were opened to the systematic racism alive in the US and made me look with fresh eyes on New Zealand race issues when I came home.
In my opinion, I have no real voice in this issue because I am white and I have never experienced the casual racism we have in New Zealand. However, I can play my part by being aware of the lense I look at people with and work to change my purview.
