Welcome to this week’s MondayMotivator.
Are you living your life to the fullest?
In a wonderful poem written by Nadine Stair at the age of 85, the statement was clearly made that if she had her life to live over she would…
“Make more mistakes next time,
Take fewer things seriously, and
Take more chances.”
She would also…
“Eat more ice cream.”
(Particularly important for Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers people, and Dr Atkins – anyway, he’s not around to tell us whether he ate ice cream secretly! Rumour has it that he slipped and fell and cracked his head on the pavement while rushing into a Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Parlour. On second thoughts, it was probably a load of rubbish that he fell over – he just died of a heart attack. Now that I’ve had my rave (who cares anyway?!?), I feel better now that I’ve taken fewer things seriously.)
But most importantly she said…
“I would have more actual troubles and fewer imaginary ones.”
And to really press the point home, she said…
“If I had my life to live over, I would have more moments, one after another, instead of trying to be so many years ahead of each day.”
This wonderful poem, written many years ago has been quoted many times. Each time you read it, it should reinforce to you the importance of travelling lighter than you presently do.
Perhaps that’s why angels can fly, they don’t carry any baggage!
So from today you can lighten up, be sillier, make more mistakes, take fewer things seriously, eat as much ice cream as you want and enjoy your life as a series of brilliant and wonderful moments, one after another, instead of trying to be so many years ahead of each day.
Click here, (If I Had My Life To Live Over), to download this wonderful poem.
Once you have read it, print it out and keep it handy. Read it every day, especially when you get serious. Just remember, business can sometimes ruin a good day! Just like golf can ruin a good walk.
Now that you’re smiling, make someone else smile by sending this Monday Motivator to your friends.
